DUNKIN DONUTS BRING BACK THE SPINACH ARTICHOKE SUPREME BAGEL

They say, “It is better to have loved and lost than to never have loved at all,” and I call bullshit because I wish I’d never had a Dunkin Donuts Spinach Artichoke Supreme Bagel if they were just going to take it away from me.

Some background: In 2014, Dunkin Donuts released the Spinach Artichoke Supreme Bagel. Supreme bagels cost more so you know they’re good. It was Dunkin Donuts’ most high-calorie bagel ever. It was the best thing I’ve ever gotten from a fast food breakfast joint.

Then, in 2015, the bagel disappeared from the bagel shelves with no fanfare.

I think about the bagel every week. Sometimes I send a tweet out into the void: DUNKIN DONUTS BRING BACK THE SPINACH ARTICHOKE BAGEL. These tweets are entirely ignored, both by Dunkin Donuts’ corporate branding and by my own followers.

What did the Dunkin Donuts Spinach Artichoke Supreme Bagel even taste like? In truth, I can’t recall. I remember the feeling of joy, peace, and contentment. But the specifics of what it tasted like? It was probably creamy, and salty, and parts of it crispy but some not.

Anyway the point is DUNKIN DONUTS HAS NOT BROUGHT BACK THE SPINACH ARTICHOKE BAGEL. In the year 2018, I did a little digging.

Look at those time stamps! From 3 years to 45 weeks to ONE MINUTE AGO. The people haven’t forgotten! The people will never forget! The new one Tomato and Mozzarella is bland!

But, of course, here was my answer: Dunkin Donuts has no plans to bring back the best thing they ever served. Dunkin Donuts would rather shove Munchkins in their ears than listen to the people sing.

I don’t know anymore. Perhaps it is better to loved and lost. And to fixate on that lost love, and to build up an arsenal of one-sided brand engagement until they block you from their corporate Facebook page.

Dunkin Donuts. I’m begging you. Bring back the Spinach Artichoke Supreme Bagel.
